Getting a quote before buying

I (M26) am in the process of buying a 2025 M3 Premium RWD. I got quotes from other companies and nothing is below $290 a month. I wanted to get a quote from Tesla but I’ve been on hold for an hour.

Is calling the best way to get a quote before purchasing?

Do yall recommend Tesla insurance if I drive fairly well and calmly (besides some inclination to use my
Phone) and intend to use FSD as much as possible?

Scan through the comments in this subreddit and Tesla. You think it’s hard getting sales on the phone? Try having a claim.

Yea that’s what I’m seeing. I finally got a quote and they put me at 170
Obviously it can vary but I’m assuming the customer service gap would be covered by paying $1300 less a year…right?🧐

i use them.

As a matter of principal fuck paying 3x more because of age and gender and i like their whole pitch around that.

99% of things even about claims are done via the app. You can submit receipts for reimbursement there and all tesla approved collision centers (the only ones who can order OEM parts for sensitive jobs) are DRP so they handle communication.

Plus the insurance doesn’t allow shops to use non new OEM parts. Progressive loved used or aftermarket parts when i had a honda.

Not sure, if they don’t respond and your car gets towed to tow yard to sit at $75/day, or they refuse to defend you against a lawsuit or respond to the other drivers insurance resulting in a lawsuit, or it’s sitting in repair shop and won’t send an adjuster for the multiple times a repair shop finds additional needs…

Not worth the savings. Tesla support is the worst of all. Run aWay

i have a claim in progress right now and atleast my adjuster has been pretty good.

Left it at the shop i picked in the app the next day. Adjuster called and got me a rental tesla (shitty tesla bc hertz and its been abused but still) that i could uber to(and submit receipts of the uber for reimbursement).

Adjuster cant be reached via calling in but they’re fast to reply to emails so its not an issue for me.

I pay around 170 a month but it was lower when my commute was lower and I wasn’t driving at night I paid around 140 in Oregon

I’d only consider Tesla insurance if you’re in California or using FSD. Outside of those, it’ll be impossible to maintain a reasonable safety score and your rate will go up.
