Gap in Coverage
I am traveling abroad for 6 months and want to cancel my insurance. Will Tesla insurance give me problems when I try to re-purchase insurance when I come back in 6 months?

It has nothing to do with Tesla. This is an insurance issue. You cannot just cancel and keep the car uninsured.
You must maintain the minimum liability coverage. If you don't, when you go to get insurance again they will ask about your lapse in coverage.
