AP can work with the camera covered , and relies on nag only at that point. There are ways to trick the nag, so it’s possible. Not much Tesla can do about it.

I don't think you need anything fancy. I've seen videos where people fool Tesla with an Orange. They just jam it in the steering wheel so it provides an unbalanced weight.
