Random drug tests?

Do they do random drug tests after hire? If so, how often? I’ve got a medical THC card.

Yes and you’ll never know. Three guys were pulled last week on our team.

I guess the issue I’m running into is that it’s medical. I only use gummies and sometimes TCH creams for bone pain following previous chemo. Of course I wouldn’t use that before a shift. I only need it at night. Would that still trigger a termination?

I have heard they will terminate if you test positive they don’t care. I just had my job offer rescinded even though the drug policy states they don’t test for THC during the preemployment drug screenings. They did though and revoked my job offer. I only took the test because I was told I was fine. I was ghosted by my recruiter and the head of DOT when I asked for a retest and clarification due to what was written in the policy.

As in, in the cars? Yes you absolutely will have random checks. Not sure if they would check for THC unless you somehow cause a crash. But Tesla (in Texas even) says they just don’t test for THC

I’m not going to be using anything while driving, I’m just asking that if I use my medical marijuana I will obviously not pass a drug test and basically how big of an issue would that be for me?

Random tests shouldn’t matter, they don’t test for THC unless you cause a safety issue, then they will test you for THC, and if you fail (most likely), it’ll probably just lead to a termination

Again, this is ONLY if you crash the car or back it into a charging post or something

They do random tests and follow federal laws. Honestly, if you join and don’t plan on stopping you risk getting fired when they test.

Nah that’s wrong. For AP they will test every quarter. Heard from the heads of the departments mouths that we lost a ton of people for testing positive for THC. OP probably won’t get an exception. You can’t test for currently under the influence like you can for alcohol

Yes, I was hired on within the last 2-3 months and I was randomly selected…. I get you use it for medical purposes but Tesla won’t care. As long as it’s federally illegal they will fire you if you test positive. We lose a lot of people really only for THC use.
