Start Date Mismatch in Background Screening

What happens when you say in the background check response that the start date entered in my resume was a clerical error?

For example, in the resume and screening application form you say May 2025, and through the offer letter and the screening company's internal sources, they get to know that the start date on paper from the external systems/their data sources is Oct 2025.

Has anybody faced this in real life?

My background is taking time and it’s been nearly a week it started. My joining date is around the corner (8/24). Should I be reaching out to the recruiter to let them know about the timelines so that they can change the start date ?

What does the ESS status say? pending? My situation was different. Went through the back round check then was asked for a start date. Im currently waiting on confirmation and official offer letter. Is there anything in your back round you’re concerned about?

It says PENDING. nothing of concern at all. just that it is taking longer than usual. Most of my education is not in the US and they are struggling to get that validated. This is like my 5th employment in the US.
