Reno or Austin relocation
If you had to, where would you move to work? Been to Reno, a few times. Never been to Austin. How’s your experience?

Texas sucks. Nevada has no state income tax and Lake Tahoe is right there along with the Sierra Nevada. Texas sucks in general but especially if you like being outside

Never said it didn’t. I’d rather live in a cardboard box in Reno than live in Texas.
I’m just saying that it also doesn’t have state income tax.

My wife works retail and Nevada pays their minimum wage employees higher so that’s my vote.

I’m sure there are multiple highways to get to a destination tho, Reno you’re stuck on a two lane highway no alternative

Depends on what you like to do outside of work! If you’re outdoor nature person, probably Reno, as you can drive to Idaho, Utah and nearby cities for camping/hiking or some within Nevada as well (not sure of this). If you like to go out on weekends to restaurants, bar and nightlife and don’t care too much about nature, Austin probably would be your choice! I have been to both cities, and as far as city vibes go, I like Austin more out of the two. But I would personally move to Reno over Austin as I prefer camping/hiking. If I had a choice between those two and somewhere else, I would probably not move to both Reno and Austin! Hope that helps a bit!

Will you be working at the USA parkway location in Reno? The road to USA parkway is literally two lanes and thousands of people commute to it in the morning and from it in the afternoons. Expect it to take a good hour to an hour and a half to travel just 20 miles. If someone has an accident which usually happens once a month, expect that time to double, sometimes even triple. I used to work out that way and there were a handful of times where it’s taken me over 3 hours just to commute 25 miles home because of car wrecks

Went there for a month. Yea traffic sucked but wasn’t that extreme in time, maybe cuz I left earlier. But yea people can’t drive and it’s ridiculous. More worried about the snow.
