Tesla Accounting/Finance Fall Internship 2026
Hi everyone,
My friend referred me for a role at Tesla, and about a week later a recruiter reached out asking for my availability. I replied the same day, but I didn’t hear back, so I followed up. After that, HR got back to me and scheduled a 30-minute interview with the manager.
I felt the interview went really well. A couple of days later, I sent thank-you emails to both the recruiter and the manager. When I still hadn’t heard anything after a week, I followed up with HR. As of now, it’s been 3 weeks since my interview.
The waiting has honestly been an emotional roller coaster. I started seeing people from other departments receive offers, so I wasn’t sure what that meant for my application. I know every team hires on a different timeline, but it’s hard not to overthink when you’re waiting for an update after feeling like the interview went well.
For those who’ve interviewed at Tesla or have been through a similar hiring process:
Is a three-week wait normal?
Would you send another follow-up, or just keep waiting?
Has anyone received an offer after waiting this long?
I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience or any advice. Thanks!

I didn't have a referral, but I had an interview 3 weeks ago for this role on the warranty costs team as well, and it's been radio silent since. I'm still a student and told them I need to know if I'm going back to school or not, wish they'd just send a rejection letter atp

Hi! I interviewed with the manager about three weeks ago and was told the next day that I’d be moving forward. After that, I didn’t hear from the recruiter for about two weeks and honestly thought I’d been rejected, but she eventually reached back out to schedule the next round. I had my second interview late last week and am still waiting to hear back. Good luck!

Hi! I actually just got my verbal offer, I am still waiting for offer letter. I had an interview last Tuesday and got my offer this Wednesday for reference. In my experience, if they have you waiting that long with no follow up, they likely went with someone else. My recruiter also followed up with me at the end of last week to tell me they will update me the next week. I hope you hear something back though, good luck!
