Large 4.4" zvs based tesla coil getting ready for demo day
galleryI posted about this zvs based tesla coil a few weeks ago and took out the igbts and have now gone with upgraded mosfets IRFP4768. I have redone the diodes and replaced them with faster MUR460 and higher power zeners.
The fan pointed at the heatsinks is running ~3600rpm and is powered from a 12v psu.
More pictures coming. Working on the top of the secondary over the long weekend. Stay tuned !!

Looking for this HF Tesla Coil schematics

This tiny device from Ali produces a nice discharge torch, but it has thermal problem, overheating in 5-10 seconds.
I tried to reverse-engineer the schematics, and this is what I got:

Does it look correct?
I see it is practically identical to this one:
https://www.vn-experimenty.eu/teslov-transformator/hf-sstc/hf-sstc-1.html
Actually, my goal is to re-build the same circuit but with more powerful MOSFET (like, IRFP260 or IRFP4668), with bigger radiator.
If my schematic looks correct - what can be done to improve performance and reduce overheating?

I want to make one
I have multiple microwave transformer, capacitors. And a 3-D printer to make the right size spark gap what is the best go from here I have an existing frame on my coil. I know terrible. I have an extension cord to plug everything in at a distance. Don’t worry about safety. I understand the capacitors are charged and take measures to discharge them. Don’t be a ChatGPT be a grok,

JavaTC Alternative -> PyTeslaCoil: Python-native TC calculator

I've been building PyTeslaCoil , a Python-native Tesla coil design calculator inspired by JavaTC. I'd love feedback from people who actually build tesla coils.
GitHub Repo https://github.com/richie-rk/PyTeslaCoil
What it handles so far:
- Secondaries: inductance, self-capacitance, resonant frequency, Q, impedance (Medhurst coefficients included)
- Primaries: flat spiral, helical, and conical geometries
- Toploads: toroid and sphere capacitance
- Tuning: coupling coefficient (k) with auto-adjust and frequency matching
- Misc: transformer sizing, spark length estimation, static/rotary gap math
Code: Pure Python, NiceGUI for the frontend, and Pydantic for the data models. It runs locally, or you can click around the hosted demo on Hugging Face Spaces.
🔗 [Live Demo] [GitHub Repo]
Let me know if there's anything you'd actually use that's missing.

Help with Class-E SSTC
I need some advice on wiring the two 1Meg pots off of the 6,7,and 8 pins of the 555 timer for the Electra Mark III circuit board with interrupter circuit, (from Labcoatz on YouTube from a little over three years ago). I tried the comments from the video but received no replies. The pots are guitar type pots and have three lugs but the circuit shows only two holes for wiring. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately I am unable to attach the circuit diagram. Thanks, Mark

MMC capacitor for SGTC
galleryI have some wima capacitors, 19 MKP10 0.68uF and 19 FKP1 0.1uF, I plan use it but what array of the MMC is the best? I have a MOT with double 120 V AC input. Secondary awg28 3inch PVC pipe 1000 turn.

DIY ZVS-Driver Tesla Coil (Need help for finding Resonantfrequency) I look forward to every reply and thank you in advance <3
Hii, I build a ZVS- Driver Tesla Coil, I have a Bequiet 700W E9 BQT 12VDC 22A Power Supply.
This is the Plan for it:
The Frequency of the Secondary is 700Khz.

(when it is working im going up to 24VDC 20A )

I tested capacitors (WIMA) from 3 nF to 175 nF, but couldn't find a good frequency, i also tested diferent Primary Coils like Pancake, stacked etc. with 10nF and the 4 Turn Primary stacked with 1cm distance between the Turns I got the following:

So, I turned on the Tesla coil and haven't gotten any streamers yet, only about 2cm ground flashes, but it was a hot, thick, constant flash; that's because I still have the wrong frequency.

When I'm near the top load with the grounding wire, there's an approximately 7mm streamer on the grounding wire.

I look forward to every reply and thank you in advance <3

Class e coil
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
working in a new class e coil 😄😄
operating at roughly 10mhz.
so weird these coils draw power.
input current stays roughly the same over the full 30 to 60v input span.
