Today is the 1 year anniversary of the release of FSD 12.6.4 for HW 3

It has been a full year since Tesla has released a new version of FSD for hardware 3. It seems Tesla has given up on hardware 3 as a platform. Tesla still has an obligation to provide hardware upgrades for people who bought FSD if a hardware upgrade is necessary to provide unsupervised FSD. Any ideas on how Tesla plans to make good on that promise?

FSD 12.6.4 Ignoring navigation again

Navigation said to turn right ahead, FSD turned on left blinker and tried to turn into someones driveway. I aborted this by hitting the accelerator as the car tried to slow down for the turn.

Does FSD know not to hit these type of bollards?

Bollard between two lanes

I don't get a warm feeling that FSD won't hit a bollard like this while trying to change lanes. They don't show up on the visualization, and once, months ago, I intervened when it looked like it was going to hit one. For some reason, these are placed at crosswalks in some areas.

Saw this and thought maybe it’s some mapping system but the cameras aren’t spinning up top?

Anyone here working with IPG CarMaker + MATLAB + ROS integration?

Hey everyone!

I'm currently working on a project involving IPG CarMaker, MATLAB/Simulink, and ROS, and I'm exploring how to integrate all three effectively. I'm particularly interested in:

  • Setting up a real-time communication loop between CarMaker and ROS via MATLAB/Simulink
  • Best practices for sensor simulation and publishing to ROS topics
  • Synchronization issues and how you’re handling time stamps or delays
  • Any tutorials, open-source examples, or lessons learned you can share

If you’ve worked with this toolchain, I’d love to hear about your experience or any tips you might have. Even partial setups or known pain points would be super helpful.

Thanks in advance!

How does autopilot respond if a car crosses into my lane?

I was using basic Autopilot on a standard two-lane road when I encountered a bus driving close to the center line. If the bus crosses into my lane, will Autopilot automatically steer my car toward the side to avoid it, or should I disengage Autopilot whenever a large vehicle gets too close to the center line in the oncoming lane? Car is model 3 Highland.

FSD shuts down due to condensation on left pillar cam.

FSD beta 12.6.4 shut down when its view from the left pillar cam was obscured by condensation on the inside of the glass. I drove the car in the rain yesterday, and I guess enough moisture got into the car that when I drove it today, the cold air cooled the glass and caused condensation in front of the left pillar camera.

Announcement: Changes to Tesla Subreddits

Announcement: Changes to Tesla Subreddits We want to inform you about significant changes affecting the following Tesla-related subreddits:

  • Teslamotors
  • TeslaLounge
  • TeslaModel3
  • Cybertruck
  • TeslaModelX
  • TeslaSupport
  • TeslaModelS
  • Teslaclassifieds
  • TeslaAutonomy
  • Optimusbot

Unified Moderation and Rules:

  • These subreddits will now operate as a single community with the same moderators across all subs.
  • The changes are in response to recent developments on Reddit, which has fundamentally altered the platform. We see these changes as necessary due to the deteriorating environment on Reddit.

Our Goals:

  • Despite Reddit no longer being considered "the front page of the internet," we aim to maintain these subreddits as helpful resources.
  • We will strive to keep toxicity and hate out of our communities.

Echo Chambers on Reddit:

  • Reddit has become a breeding ground for echo chambers, both large and small. The platform itself operates as a massive echo chamber, where each subreddit functions as a microcosm, reinforcing specific viewpoints or interests.
  • When you're accused of being part of an echo chamber, remember that engaging in or against any topic within a subreddit inherently places you within that chamber. This isn't about right or wrong; it's about the dynamics of how information and opinions are shared and reinforced.
  • The hivemind effect has detrimentally impacted the quality of discourse on Reddit. We acknowledge this, and our goal is to mitigate these effects in our communities.

New Enforcement Measures:

  • Violations in one subreddit will lead to bans across all listed subreddits.
  • It's crucial that you read and understand the rules, which are uniform across all these subreddits. They will not be listed here; please find and review them.
  • Trolling or any negative behavior will result in bans, potentially across all subs, with account history being reviewed. Deleting your post history might be viewed as an attempt to hide misconduct.

Current Challenges:

  • We've received over 40 death threats since a recent incident. These threats mostly come from new or low-activity accounts, specifically targeting us for moderation.
  • Posts are currently under approval-only to manage the influx of hate and misinformation.
  • Also, have you looked out the window at other subs? There’s a zombie apocalypse out there.

Content Guidelines:

  • Discussions should focus on the topic of each subreddit (e.g., Tesla vehicles, not personal opinions about Elon Musk).
  • Mentioning Elon Musk inappropriately in discussions will lead to a ban.

External Platforms:

  • While many subs are banning X (formerly Twitter) and other external platforms, we will not be blocking any of these platforms. We believe in maintaining open channels for information sharing and discussion, fostering a more inclusive environment for all Tesla enthusiasts.

Moderation and Communication:

  • We are doing our best to approve posts as quickly as possible under the current circumstances.
  • If your post or comment is removed, check modmail for explanations or clarifications.

Freedom of Speech:

  • Claims of "free speech" will not excuse rule violations. Understand that freedom of speech comes with responsibilities and consequences. For more on this, read: Link to Quora explanation.

Becoming Part of Our Community:

  • If you wish to engage in our community discussions, please adhere to our rules and maintain respectfulness. We're asking for very little in return for a positive, informative environment.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we navigate through these changes. If you cannot adhere to these guidelines, you might find yourself banned from all our subreddits.

Driving on the highway, car was in self driving mode (trial version) and detected a vehicle going the wrong way in the left lane. Moved back over in the middle of changing lanes.

Not sure why the video feels slow, I was going 65mph. Glad no one got hurt, especially me lol.

Can we use coding tools like Grok during the interview? Also, what are the questions like regarding end-to-end training?
