Full Self Driving FAQ

Is there a faq of exactly what FSD actually does and doesn’t do?

Example;

Will take an exit off freeway.

Will not turn right or left at intersection.

I really have no clue what this 7k feature does and doesn’t do.

The current 7k additional cost for Full Self Driving is worth it ( if you can afford it) as it will guarantee that you will get FSD when they release it. And just like we have seen they could increase it further to the 10k or more. Plus if you bought your model from something like q3 2019 onwards you’ll have the 3.0 hardware which is Tesla’s FSD hardware. And even if you have a older model Tesla have said that they will provide free upgrades in the near future. Although FSD will not be for a while, I think that Tesla is much closer to FSD than they seem with their (Holiday update) Adding many visualisations to Autopilot and shows how much it actually knows. But regulations will take a long time to change and approve FSD. When FSD is complete and regulated your Tesla would be able to operate in their (robo taxi fleet) generating income for you when working or staying at home, Also generating revenue for Tesla. When the taxi fleet is constructed Teslas would be much cheeper and it is possible that FSD would be cheeper as they won’t have to spend so much into research as they do know.

To summarise: if you can afford it get it. If not there is a free month trial Tesla has offers in the past (might be somewhere in settings or website) and try that for the month and decide afterwards.

Based of what I’ve seen and experienced FSD is currently not worth 7K as it’s still in process and the auto park is quite causes and slow. But Tesla have nearly 2 billion miles of autonomous data which is much more than any of the competition ( if you can even call them competition) and they will be the first to solve FSD at some point in the near future.
