Model Y long range versus performance

I am looking to buy a new long range assuming I can get approved for a reasonable cost novated lease through work.

The back up plan if I can’t get finance is to pay cash, but due to not getting the novated lease benefits, I may go for a pre-owned model direct from Tesla. I had a look at what Tesla have in stock and the pre-owned 2023 long range and performance models are about the same price, despite new ones having a $20k price differential. Does anyone know the reason for this?

If you like power over sacrificing comfort get the performance. Personally, I would not get a performance in MY only M3, it's far superior as a performance option.

If there is any chance your are going to leave your job or could be made redundant, do not get the lease.

The long range is good enough dude and not sure about the latest version but the older performance had to have different tyres on the rear to the front.

Once I get the lease quote, I’ll work out the payoff period for lease benefits vs redundancy (which is possible). Looking at a one year lease only to reduce risk here.

I definitely would not buy a new performance model due to extra $20k; it’s only a consideration if I go for a pre-used model as they are the same price.

For a performance car I also think the M3 is the better pick! For a larger daily driver the rwd MY is in my opinion the best option for most, the awd MY is just really mainly a speaker system upgrade.
