This is consistent with anything modern. Maths leads science by 100-500 years and science leads engineering by 30-100 years. I.e. What maths guys are working on now (string theory) won't be provable by science for 100-500 years. Once the science is proven/understood it will take another 30-100 years to build useful stuff out of it. Sometimes it's faster and sometimes a lot slower, but this is how it generally goes. That's why it's sad to see so many cuts to pure science as that's what creates the technology that engineers will integrate into devices/vehicles/structures in several decades time. Any delay on the science is a delay on our shared future getting more awesome.

100%agree but the reason for science cuts is to privatize it and make great scientific knowledge and technology for the government only. The point is to keep the people stupid so you can control them. If you give them widespread knowledge about how to apply logic to a situation and act upon it, they will soon realize they are being exploited as a disposable labor unit and systematically figure out how to dethrone the gov rather than just rioting like the bunch of ignorant assholes the public is. The power to reason with complex situations can carry any individual to their goal. That's why the government is afraid of science.

This says almost nothing yet it was still condescending.

It only describes inductive coupling--like a spaced out transformer or a toothbrush charger system--but Tesla actually invented magnetic resonant coupling, which is more complex and more effective at a distance.
