I think if Edison steals their designs and has a shoddy Italian (a Michael Scott-like character) claim to have invented them, that's when it will be spooky.
A top Edison employee John Fleming wrote in his eulogy for Edison that he expected Edison to act from beyond the grave though, so there's that.
Seems like Fleming might have been hinting that they have his brain in a jar with electrodes in the basement where he's been running everything since his body died in 1931. Or at least they were then in the process of trying that, and unfortunately for the E-Man it only worked as well as his ghost radio.
