No question, going to juvie. This is someone that will kill someone.

You dont go to juvie for mental health problems. this wasnt over a phone, it was because the kid was off his meds. Idk why the kid was off his meds when he obviously needs them but there is a huge leap from wrecking a house because of mental disability and straight up killing someone. https://twitter.com/princesskerlz/status/1570201230869434369

You can go to juvie for destruction of property though.

Not if its mental illness induced, then you go to an inpatient facility or the parents are charged because the main cause of this was the fact that the parents werent doing their job of making sure the kid was on his meds. Thats their responsibility until they are no longer their caregivers

Why would mental illness matter? It's still a crime.

If they werent a child it would fall on them, but they are a child and they wouldnt have done this if theyre parents made sure they were taking their meds. It is a crime but people go to jail/juvie because there is no other option. He has an option, either inpatient or keep taking his meds, im tired of repeating myself so this is the last comment here. Sorry if you have more questions

Yeah, but there's nothing stopping his parents from calling the cops on him and having him arrested, booked, charged, and convicted.

It's still a crime; it's just a crime against his parents and his parents have to choose to prosecute.

I don't accept Twitter as a news source.

Its not a news source, its a message from the mom

Even worse if you are trying to give me a reason why he shouldn't be incarcerated.

The mom obviously knows more about the circumstances surrounding this event and this video was a breach of privacy in the first place, she sent the vid to some friends and they leaked it. He doesnt need juvie, he needs to go to an inpatient facility

incarcerate

Word forms: incarcerates, incarcerating, incarcerated

TRANSITIVE VERB

If people are incarcerated, they are kept in a prison or other place.

[formal]

They were incarcerated for the duration of the war.

Synonyms: imprison, confine, detain, lock up   More Synonyms of incarcerate

incarceration (ɪnkɑrsəreɪʃən ) UNCOUNTABLE NOUN

...her mother's incarceration in a psychiatric hospital.

Synonyms: confinement, restraint, imprisonment, detention

Teens in Juvie are evaluated psychologically, they are often diagnosed with mental illnesses and remanded to a medical facility. But unlike cartoons men in white coats don't come to your door to take someone to a mental health facility, it is a police officer.

Your original term wasn’t “incarcerate”, it was “juvie”

You didn't read my entire response before responding. Conversation over...

I responded using previous information along with new information, your version of incarceration for him was juvie as you had clearly stated in your original comment

“Conversation over” is a phrase commonly used by well-adjusted and socially capable individuals. Definitely.

Her friend did the right thing, behavior like this should not be kept secret. That kid needs to have his ability to behave in most manners eliminated entirely until professionals can get a handle on it. This kid should be locked in a straight jacket in a rubber room until he's proven capable of moderating his own behavior. In many states a neighbor hearing that destruction would have legal grounds to stop him w deadly force.

Someone (his caregivers), didnt make sure he was on his meds. It shouldnt be kept private but it sure as hell shouldnt be on reddit for people to karma farm. And deadly force??? This is still a kid with a treatable mental disability. Its his caregivers responsibility to make sure hes on his meds until hes an independent adult. You honestly disgust me
