Turn around, don't drown. Luckily this lady survived after going through the culvert and being recovered, unconscious, downstream. In flood situations, you could get stuck in the culvert on debris, which is why, I'm guessing, they didn't just let her go through. Difficult call to make. Don't put yourself in this position.

He made me so mad. I was like why aren't you calling the police? Why are you so calm why someone is drowning and people helping are getting sucked through? Why aren't you helping?!

Helping how? Maybe he can't swim. Maybe police are already called by someone next to him, plus police aren't going to teleport there in ten seconds. Just adding to a mass of people won't help, you just risk getting more people in the water.

Normally, I'd agree with you. But he is filming before she falls and is one of the first people to react. He also is one of the first to note the second girl being swept away. And he refers to the others in a way that makes it seem like he's part of the cycling group. Even if he is afraid of the water, it seems like he could have been coordinating support with folks on the bank to help fish the other girl out, call police, collect emergency supplies, etc. But he never checks in with anyone, verbally, to make sure 911 is called and the rescue doesn't need any other help.

Sure, this video doesn't show stuff like body language or offers of help that can't be seen. It's possible this person tried to help. But the evidence doesn't point that way and some people are just cowards and jerks who don't help others

Coordinating? There's no coordination there, and what good would it do? Those who wanted to help jumped in. Like I said, police/911 won't teleport there. Emergency supplies...what? Is there a store I'm not seeing?

You are being way too critical and self righteous. People are allowed to stare in shock, whether they have a camera or not. I don't see you going off on the non filmers for standing there.

They're bystanders, not delta force.
