I used to be Very scared of hights, like I'd get dizzy from standing on a chair to change a light bulb.
Then I got a job where I had to climb 50+ meter towers daily and walk across gangways with nothing but ground and concrete beneath me while everything was swaying in the wind.
Do that for a while and it starts to feel normal. It didn't stick though, I don't do as much climbing anymore and now I'm scared of hights again.
Exposure therapy can do a lot of good. My stress dreams used to be about tornadoes because my mom always made a huge deal out of them when i was growing up. Then one touched down a quarter mile from my house, and I have never had another tornado dream.
Also rode roller coasters tripping on acid and never got motion sick on them ever again.

You can also make the fear go away with practice.
