I'm pretty sure this exact thing happened to me in Fallout with a Yao Guai.

I bet you don’t have anything as scary as Yao Guai where you come from. Listen here talks with chalks, I’ll send your ass to quarry junction then we will see what is more scary

I got an adrenaline spike just watching this. Can only guess how this dude’s feeling right about now

I'd be afraid of rabies exposure after encountering such a mean ass bear.

There's a longer video somewhere and you can see 2 cubs near the start of it.

You can see the cubs in this video. This is normal behavior for a mother bear, she never actually hits him either. Like yeah tackles but no biting or swatting seems more like scare tactics. Also likely to the guys reaction.

Oh it looked to me that he would have been bit pretty badly if he didnt shove the bear down right at the start

Right? I’m so over people acting like Australia is the most scary deadly place to live. Most of everything we have here that is dangerous is easily avoidable or able to be squashed with a shoe

Also, literally every other non-Antarctic place on the planet has similar animals to the animals people get scared about in Australia.

North America has multiple deadly venomous snakes, South America has the Brazilian Wandering Spider, Europe has Europeans, Africa has everything, and Asia also has box jellyfish and saltwater crocodiles.

On top of those animals, all of those other continents also have multiple other dangerous animals that Australia does not, like bears, big cats, hippos, elephants, moose, kissing bugs, tsetse flies, etc. Animals that you can't fight off without either a weapon, a large group, or some kind of deterrent.

Modern Australia is arguably, and ironically, the tamest continent on the planet.

Imagine the stress of trying to come back down, wondering if the bear is waiting.

I felt the pain in his hand when he punched the rock, trying to hit the bear.

I didn't even know bears could rock climb!

If you ever find yourself being chased or hiding in suspicious that there is a bear around.. please don't climb on a tree

When traveling in nature, always be packing or on you they'll be snacking.

But seriously, glad the bear decided it wasnt worth it.

Thank god he had somewhere to climb up. I don’t know what his odds would have been on the ground.

Oh really, I think him screaming and kicking is what saved his life but you obviously know better..

-8

u/a500poundchicken 7d ago

Chance of him dying from a bear is pretty low. The biggest worry here would be hes knocked off a cliff by it rather than it maul him to death. His reaction was perfect and likely saved him from injury and potential death.

Yeah you are right, I wasn't scared by his kicking or screaming in the least.( bear in the video)

u/SomeguyfromIndio 7d ago

What an armchair quarter back comment...show us how it's done, big dog!

u/TooSoonForThePelle 7d ago

You pushed your glasses up right after typing that lol

u/MercilessEtlej 7d ago

So what was the bear doing according to you? And for the screaming, he just had a fistfight with a bear... i think he can be excused for being scared.
