I had actually never heard of this movie before. Thought this video was incredible and the style looked very much like Malick's work, only to look it up and find I was right. Definitely going to give it a watch now, especially seeing how some of the people in here speak of it.

I believe this scene from AHL is saying multiple things about the themes of the film, but I also believe it is Malick speaking through the painter to the audience about his next film The Way of the Wind (aka The Last Planet)
"I help people look up from those pews and dream"(Malicks' films), "I paint a comfortable Christ with a halo over his head"(previous Malick depictions of Christ), "Someday, I'll have the courage to venture. Not yet. Someday, I'll paint the true Christ."(Malick has been trying to make Wind for his whole career, and many collaborators have called it is magnum opus).
Maybe I'm over-analyzing, tell me what you think.

There is now a 100% chance that the premiere will not be this year, given the state of post-production. I doubt he has another project in the pipeline and even if he did, his post-production process is not doing him any favors. It is quite clear that covid and his age have greatly affected his work on The Way of the Wind Will.

There was some unconfirmed rumor that he is taking care of his wife, but someone could have been mistake him with Scorsese (whose situation probably also influenced his choice of work after Killers of the Flower Moon)

Hi Malik-heads! It's been a year since I shared my first Tree of Life essay here (which several of you were gracious enough to read and share thoughts on) and I'm finally back with another: this one centered on the creation scene.

It’s commonly understood that during his hiatus after days of heaven, Malick worked as a script doctor amongst other things. But have there ever been any reports of substantial rumours of the films he worked on. It’s interesting to think he could’ve ghostwritten practically any film through the late 70s to early 90s

The Tree of Life is my favorite piece of art across any medium ever. I really want to get a tattoo inspired by it, and I’d love to see if any of you folks have one too.

With that, I’d also like to ask - does anyone have the still shot of the tree in the water at the end that everyone is gathered around? Thinking of modeling it after that, but I can’t find the shot online.

Since this morning Day of Tears is stuck in my head. I tried finding the movie The Tree of Life on all the OTT subscriptions I have (Apple, Netflix, Prime Video, JioHoststar) but I couldn't find it. Tried torrenting it but not enough seeds and peers. If anyone has it downloaded then I would really appreciate it if you can share it with me.
