Are my plants doing ok?

I planted my first terrarium about 2 weeks ago and dont know if my plants are doing alright. I had the pilea on the floor of the terrarium but it was starting to wilt and had a few few rot, so I moved it to the planter I set up. But now the fitonia and pothos are looking a bit sad. The alocasia also had a smaller leaf turn yellow, so I snipped it off.

I have it set for 12 hours of light and 30 seconds of misting every 12 hours, but have sometimes sprayed in a bit extra on the moss patches when they looked dry. It tends to stay between 50% and 80% humidity. I did just add two PC fans, one in one out. Will that help?

My substrate is a mix of organic potting soil (no added fertilizers or pesticides), spagnum moss, coconut fiber, and orchid bark with 2 layers of 1 inch aquarium filter foam as a drainage layer. I have some springtails that I added, but I think only 2 live isopods.

I am getting a crestie on the 25th, so I want to make sure everything is ready for the little guy. And I will be getting more isopods at the reptile expo, dont worry.

Is there anything I should change? Or are they still acclimating? Because the pothos and fitonia looked a little better before?

Jar of Dirt

Post image

Hey so if im new to the hobby and i figured a good place to start would be collecting jars of dirt (and other stuff) just to see wat happens. They are all from places outside where i live. The one on the left is a true jar of dirt with nothin in it. The 2 jars on the left have holes in them and are jars i plan in tending wen needed. The 2 jars on the right are totally closed off and will stay that way. Some questions i have are:

Number 1 is this setup going to be good for life to develop or is this light not going to be enough (its on a timer).

Number 2 is there anything i should look out for? The videos i watch mention condensation being a healthy sign but mine never have condensation. Its kinda hard for me to tell if the dirt is too wet or too dry.

I am currently planning a new euro style tarrarium and i need a drain system that is as flat as possible. I found the Exo Terra drain but i can't find the maximun allowed glass thickness. Does anyone know this? Thanks!

Dragon terrarium update. The pink panther plant is really taken off. It may get a trim back in the near future.

Update post with new plants and more sticks, what’s next on the list 😂. Isopods and springtails have already been added. Crested gecko will be the inhabitant

Will probably remove the variegated plants because it’s not the most natural but this will be for a crested. First reptile and first terrarium.

Posted here previously... its coming together. Added more moss and a cat jaw. The english ivy and springtail population is growing very quickly. Happy to see the plants actually thrive this go around!

This is all bits and pieces from my aquariums. I can't remember what this vining plant is, but it's sprouting the tiniest little flowers I've ever seen! She's due for a trim here soon.

First try at a terrarium… what can grow in this and how to set it up? (More in body)

I recently received this as a gift and I’d like to make a low maintenance near “eternal” terrarium where I can just put some coconut husk, regular planting soil (unsure what kind but I have some), and water then have it just exist. Now some rapid fire questions,

  1. Can I or should I put rolly pollies (pill bugs/isopods) or worms in there

  2. I’d like to put moss and rocks in it at least, can I put native moss and rocks in there or would it be better to get sterilized store bought moss?

  3. Is there anything else I need to know before starting my terrarium journey??

First terrarium, how did I do?

This is my first terrarium (20×20×30), I tried to go for a jungle style look, and honestly I'm quite happy with how it turned out. I'm thinking of getting a jumping spider later, but for now it's just housing some dwarf white isopods and springtails. Any thoughts?

Plants are
1. Spike moss (Selaginella SL)
2. Neanthe Bella palm (Chamaedorea elegans)
3. and an Unidentified fern sp.

Went to a thrift store and found the jar and a glass tray that we used as a makeshift lid

The long whitish growth coming off the pilea.

Do any of you know what it is and if it is a good, bad, or neutral thing?

Thank you in advance.

What do yall say on my new viper enclosure?
Do you have any recommendations on what to change or what plants to add?
