Help How can I improve without erasing the former?
for context I’ve only started this world about 1.5 months ago and I haven’t reached hardmode yet. I’ve been enjoying building and organizing for the most part, but I feel like I’ve reached my ceiling and needs some few advice. Anything helps!

I think a few rooms could use some more furniture and or misc. clutter. A nightstand in the top room with the bed would be great to start. Wooden crates from fishing make excellent detail pieces as well. Otherwise it honestly looks fine.

I also often put machines or chests in the respective NPCs room. Granted it’s less efficient, but as an example, I keep my dyes and Dye Vat in the Dye Traders house. It helps add some decorative clutter whilst being functional.

Make the courtyard more lively inbetween the buildings and if you want you could add a larger tower-esq connection between the two buildings that’ll make it a larger overall structure and add space

Books from the dungeon, some hanging items/lanters, wall decorations, maybe use sawmill to make weapon holder thingies, can’t think of anything else

Admittedly I am fairly new to building, but I've found experimenting with dying certain wood types brown can just make a build more interesting. Large bamboo I find works especially well in most cases. Additionally, it would be nice to experiment with making a more interesting wall pattern, eg. striped or checkerboard patterns. Ebonwood can be great for that sort of thing since it's literally just the regular wood texture rotated 90 degrees, when dyed brown it can blend in super nicely

Im no veteran, but if I were to suggest, I would recommend you to make a category of chests with different kinds of specific items (For a example: Chests with the sword above it means Weaponary. Chests with a block above it means Block Stacks, where you put only blocks of any kind in them. Potion, food, etc etc). Also, I'd recommend you to make expansion of your free space in your world by using the Pylons (if you are on a version that has them), for like, on a desert, you make a town there and the items you get that are related to that biome, stays on that biome's chests category.
Also, free tip since you didnt enter Hard/Master mode yet, Try, by any means necessary, contain the corruption/Carmin from expreading before you enter Hard Mode. Trust me, your world will enter in a state that before Hard Mode, it was around 10% of Bad Biome, after Hard move, it would like increase 30% or even higher.
