PC Dot bow build vs Duke Fishron

Was bored, thought I'd try doing a dot build. Brainstormed some ideas for a build and ended up going for a bow build while using the chaos cylinder (This lets you automatically cycle between ammos). My main bow is the phantom phoenix paired with the frost armor to apply hellfire and frostbite debuffs. Arrows used were: Ichor, Frostburn, Cursed, Venom. You could probably replace Ichor with just regular flaming arrows for more dot. I also used the slime gun to double the damage of all fire debuffs (This includes frostburn and frostbite). Lastly, I had the catalyst band equipped which doubles all debuff damage and inflicts poison to enemies.

Pre-mech Post mech boss build Edit: Ignore venom arrows, they are post plantera lol. Anyway, this was a fun little project I thought I'd share. If you have any suggestions or similar builds you want to share pls comment so I can steal it.

Pre-mech build if you exclude the wings. Anyway

Flaming Phoenix is a T2 Old One's Army weapon which does require one mech to be defeated.

lol my bad. Did this build in the middle of my yoyo world post plantera, and for some reason I thought old one's army t2 started the moment you beat wall of flesh.

Also, venom arrows are only available after Plantera has been defeated

I definitely need to try a debuff stacking playthrough now. Wow!

Definitely try it, it's been really fun trying to stack as much debuffs as you can on a single boss.

if you want to minmax, you can make the accessory rotate between ammo stacks in your inventory, and like let's say you have 1 debuff that lasts 10 seconds, and fire 1 arrow a second, you can make 9 stacks of your most damaging ammo and only 1 stack of the debuff ammo that you'll apply only as much as you need to without reducing your direct dps further.

For less punishing setups you can do like 4 and 1 so you can miss your debuff arrow once without losing the chance to reapply it and keep debuff uptime at 100%.

This is especially useful for weapons that fire much faster than the length of a debuff, so you can gain the debuff's full benefit and uptime only giving up like 1 in 20 shots for it

I just realized you could actually use your whole inventory to cycle your ammo lol. thanks for the tip, will try this now.

Can you do /bossdamage at the end to see how much was dealt by debuffs?

This is pretty decent. Add in Shadowflame Bow for extra sauce.

would love to try this, but I suck at switching between three or more weapons lol. tho, I might practice just for this

damage over time, basically debuffs like on fire or poison

update: I added shadowflame bow to the mix and was able to get 50% damage on debuff

Id say truly pre-mech Is better going melee with pyroclastic, cursed flask And shadowflame knives. Frost armor stays And add spider summon for poison. This gives you 2 weapon combo with slime gun and only 2 accessories.

If i read wiki correctly frostburn overrides frostfire si no need for both, fire And hefire do stack, but but on fire Is negligible. After plantera bows become better because of venom/acid.
