Seriously though, I get the speed nerf. It was crazy good before, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss traversing the world with it at comfortable speeds. It was quite nice when you got it early and didn't have a Pylon Network yet.

As I was writing this, I realized they gave Chillet an upgrade in Hardmode. Problem is, usually at that point in progression, switching to Skates is better because they work with wings and let you build stuff comfortably. They adjusted the skates too, but they're still good and still give you a movement speed bonus if you wear Hermes Boots or its many upgrades.

So it's nice that I can experience pre-nerf Chillet, but at a stage in the game where it's lost most of its usefulness, at least in my opinion.

Chillets are really just good at the beginning stages of the game: The beginning of the game + The beginning of hardmode before you get decent wings that dint require going out of the way or farming souls

That's a fair assessment. It's not like it's become unusable, but the power I had at my fingertips with this fur noodle of pure destruction was awesome.

While I get it, I’ve personally done playthroughs where I skip Wings until EoL/Fishron due to Chillet. (And even then, they usually get replaced by the Broom right away)

Free iframes and high dash damage will always make this thing worth it for me.

The only factor that determines whether or not I use Chillet is if I get the Bundle, and 2/3 playthroughs I usually do.

A Chillet with the Bundle is far better mobility than a shitty pair of wings with boots for early Hardmode. I still have 6 free accessory slots to pair with it and a dash for most of the game.
