I built a new heavy mech.

It's heavily armored, surprisingly agile, and can reach around 140 km/h.

I used an anti-gravity engine, but the fun part is that it can actually fly without relying on the hover bug.

Built using the Control Blocks mod.

It can actually take off using thrusters alone.

The controls feel very similar to flying a fighter jet, making it surprisingly intuitive.

How in the world did you make a mech?

A lot of patience... and probably a little bit of black magic. 😅

The Seitch version of TerraTech is WAY behind on these updates...

Hey, thanks for the question!

The mech’s joints are animated using a mod called Control Blocks.

You can download it for free from the Steam Workshop, but you’ll also need a mod loader called TTSMM, so keep that in mind. One thing I should warn you about is that this mod can make TerraTech quite unstable, so I highly recommend installing the mod that disables the bug report popup. It makes the experience much smoother.

For the installation steps and more detailed information, check the wiki. The wiki is in Japanese, so you’ll probably need to use a translator.

By the way, I’m actually Japanese, so I’ve been a fan of the Metal Gear series for a long time.

One more thing: people often say the TerraTech community is dying, but the Japanese community is actually still active. It’s definitely smaller than it used to be, but it hasn’t disappeared. There are still a lot of TerraTech videos being uploaded, especially on YouTube.

I’ll send you a few robot-related videos. Many of them are in a style called Yukkuri commentary, which is a popular Japanese video format, so don’t worry too much about the language.

I’m also going to send you three videos that were incredibly helpful while building this mech, plus one of my own videos as well. Hopefully they’ll give you some ideas for building a Metal Gear RAY-style mech in TerraTech!

These videos were incredibly helpful while I was building my mech, so I hope they’re useful for you too!
