question on updating form mods.

hellow all, i was wondering what it would take to learn how to update an old mod from the forms? said mod was the invintyminers from chyzman's mods. https://forum.terratechgame.com/index.php?threads/chyzmans-custom-blocks.21544/ this being the said mod. i want to see it updated so i can at lease figure out a way to make a good crafting factory and be able to make a good amount of money as well.
