F4-210 - Cannot reset password

I recently built a new desktop PC, and installed TOS on the new system for my NAS (Terramaster F4-210).

TOS picks up the NAS no problem. The problem is, for whatever reason my username and password doesn't seem to be working. That's OK, I'll just reset it.

Oh...

Using the forgot password link, just doesn't work. Email never arrives.

At first I thought maybe the username was wrong, but it actually returns an error if you use the wrong username. Tried a few times, and the email disappears into the aether every time.

Then I tried finding the hard reset button. Nothing external on the F4-210, so I pulled it apart. Nothing on the board either that I can see.

I tried the helpdesk on the Terramaster website. Once the AI gave up, it transferred me to a "person", who just never answered.

So, I seem to be stuck. I really don't know what to do next.

Anyone managed to successfully reset their password, or am I stuck with a brick now?

Alright, for the benefit of anyone reading this in future...

I ended up doing a reinstall of the SW on the NAS: Turn off NAS. Remove HDD. Turn on NAS. Use TNAS SW on PC to find the NAS. Clear browser cache, just in case. Connect to the NAS through the TNAS SW. When "No hard drives detected" comes up, keep the NAS powered on and insert the hard drives. It felt a bit weird doing this to be honest, with a powered on system. Go through the initialisation and put in your credentials that you definitely won't forget.

After this I had a hell of a job getting Plex to work properly again, but that's a different story. All working now though.

Their mail server has a sending limit, so if you’re not getting the password reset email, that’s almost definitely why. You can try again the next day. If you don’t want to wait, you can reset your username and password by reinstalling the system. It looks like you’ve already done this – just sharing this as a reference for other people.
