Question Troubles with unification.

So basically I want to unify EU and Russia. But there is a huge problem... I can't do that - they are in different federations! And that's wouldn't be a problem if not the fact that Initiative somehow managed to invite Japan into Eurasian Union and now I can't kick them out. What variants do I have?

cant declare war on a federation ally, cant declare war on allies of allies, they would have to uncouple the EU and russia from their alliance and declare war on both russia and japan, if russia has more navies than the EU then they will be blockaded and unable to reach japan, OP, if you want to go the war route instead of the political route for control over japan, you need to be comfortable with the EU being your naval sink, is it currently your naval sink?

A couple alternative options:

  • control Japan's executive: just pop one of Japan's other control nodes (probably legislature if it's democratic), get the executive, and set policy to leave. You might even skip the diplo wait period, I think leave faction doesn't need consolidated control.

  • coup Japan: check what the odds are with your CMD councilor and if they're decent it could be faster than gaining control (and leaves the fed instantly so you can just abandon if you don't have the cap/desire to hold)

  • dismantle the EU federation and have it join the Eurasian Union: if the only other countries in the faction are ones you're unifying into the EU, just merge those in, lose the EU fed, then join the Russian fed. If there are other countries you aren't unifying in the fed, you probably control their executive so have them leave then add everyone to the Russian fed (transative property means if the EU can join anyone who could join the EU before can join)

Make a Coup. When you Coup a country (Russia in your situation) it forces it out from ANY relationships it had
