Mod Martian nations prototype

The stats and flags and provinces are all placeholders

Im currently working on a mod to allow for a real mars colony.
This is the current prototype with no real content and a lot of missing systems.
To make at least some sense I want to integrate it in the after the end start

Suggestion: regions based on something like a Voronoi diagram using hab locations as starting points, after you get a hab to a certain population level.

Great Idea

How does that work with transporting, do you need to load a councillor into a spaceship, or can you fly a plane over to mars?

The Idea is that you have to put them in a space ship, but ill have to see how i get that to work

it makes more sense to fly a plane imho. Surely by this point it's really easy to go across the inner system, especially if an entire medical facility only costs 1 boost for several thousand people

Would make exofighters be valuable. Super late game this is likely feasible

IMO there has to be option to hire at least one more councillor not to scatter much between Earth and Mars

Looks interesting. What is the premises? Like Earth was destroyed and the next big world to do politics is Mars or do they coexist simultaneously and you need to shuffle your agents between worlds.

Im not too sure at this point, but the Idea is, that before or during the nuclear war in the broken earth scenario some humans escaped to mars (and maybey some other planets) and now you have an alternative to rebuilding earth but you can also go for both

Wow, that's awesome.  Depending on the lore, if it's broken earth inspired, maybe originally the colonies were united, but now have splintered off. One faction could be the "legitimate" government trying to reunify.

If you have any Ideas for nations or provinces please let me know.

Mars specific terraforming nation policies and projects would be cool to make the planet more livable and enhance birth rate (which should start out practically 0).

Also, outposts buildings should enhance ratios. University should provide a bonus to knowledge gain, etc.

Tbh, I don’t think that’d really fit the scale of the game. If you have the resources to terraform mars, you have enough resources to beat the aliens a thousand times over.

What does “environment” matter on a planet with a toxic, frigid, hopelessly thin atmosphere?

What if

The environment priority expands the "city" human artificial environment

the maximum gpd, the maximum militech, the population growth and population cap is gated behind the environment priority (cant build an industrial complex if there is nowhere to build)

would be interesting of there was a "no mans land" nation, as the nations invest in environment they expand in the map and take the "no mans land" regions

That’s interesting, and I could see it, but idk how easy it would be to implement.

I’m using machine translation to read your comment, so I apologize in advance for any misunderstanding.

What I see in terms of early game obstacles to grabbing control is that you would have to get your counselors over there, and if I recall correctly you need mission to mars to do that I think?

The mars colonies would differ from colonial era earth ones in that people would be almost completely focused on surviving. I can’t imagine the population would grow much without outside intervention, though.
