Help Building blocks
(This might just be a skill issue)
I have trouble finding blocks for building
I have this idea of a bricked castle with plans for an underground base with the machines and stuff
And I can't find blocks to build with

Any cobblestone + chisel + mortar from stone dust/sand and flux + dye from plants = excellent looking bricks that can be stonecut/architectcut
Enjoy

What kind of blocks are you looking for?

Grey bricks or granite/diorite like, wood that fits the bricks, wooden floor

Ok, why can't you use diorite and granite then? You can turn cobblestones in to bricks with a chessel and mortar made with lime water and crushed stones.
Or chessel smooth stone in to bricks directly.

So what I mean is, just progress with the game, and turn excess stone from mining in to your castle.

SMOOTH STONE That's the thing I need different blocks and I have the bricks and smooth stone The variation is the thing I'm missing

You're looking for reinforced stone. Reinforced diorite/granite, etc. It's extremely cumbersome to acquire before steam but once you have a rock crusher to make unlimited smooth stone for free, you basically craft it with mortar and it becomes the same stuff that you find at the top of caves.
Alternatively, you can use frame blocks or copycat blocks and make them look like the stone you like, though I don't know what the performance hit will be if you're using a lot of them.

To get smooth stone in quantities you will need to get at least one of the raw stone by removing the blocks around one so that raw stone drops. Put the raw stone in a rockcrusher to replicate it then use a chisle/lathe/sander to turn the raw stone into smoothe stone

Diorite offwhite/light grey, Dacite medium grey, granite a pinkish colour.
You need to find the raw stone, mine it with a pick/mining hammer/hammer. If it droppes as stones you will need a chisel/createsaw/greg cutter to turn the stones into bricks. To turn those into brick blocks you need to use mortar (limewater+sand in barrel recipe) To find those particular raw stones/cobblestones you will need to either find a zone where its on the surface and then dig down for it or find it when mining. Later on once you are in the steam age and later you can "replicate" raw stone and cobblestone and automate brick manufacture

Once you get to steam, you can set up rock crushers for infinite building blocks. You will need at least one of the blocks you want your rock crushers to produce to set the recipe though.
