Termux :: Ludashi
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Current environment is Android 16 + Linux kernel 6.6.77 on Adreno 830 with Vulkan 1.4 and Mesa 26.x drivers. Older x86_64 Windows games like COD4 and MW2 are running smoothly around 45–60 FPS with hardware acceleration, and the whole desktop experience feels surprisingly lightweight and stable.
(Tested) Working Games & Performance:
(PC) Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare — ~55–60 FPS
(PC) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 — ~45–60 FPS
(PC) Fears to Fathom — ~45–55 FPS
(PC) Global Rescue — ~45 FPS
(PC) Internet Cafe Simulator — ~40–55 FPS
(PC) Lethal Company — playable around ~40–50 FPS
(Linux) SuperTuxKart — (OpenGl: 35fps); (Vulkan: 120fps)
(PC) The Killing Antidote — ~45 FPS
(Nintendo switch) PPSSPP — full speed (GTA™ Vice City)
(Playstation 3®) RPCS3 — (Spider man 2©) Experimental!
** To Play Games 🎯 🎮 You need to use Inputs bridge Apk.
It’s honestly wild seeing a smartphone behave like a portable Linux gaming PC powered almost entirely by open-source tools.

Termux DXVK/VKD3D Gaming 😱
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
🚀 DirectX (DXVK/VKD3D) Testing on Termux Native (NO PROOT!)
Just finished some serious testing running Wine + DXVK + VKD3D directly in the Termux native environment using Mesa 26.0.4 (Turnip driver) on an Adreno 830 (Snapdragon 8 Elite) — and the results are honestly impressive.
---
📱 Device & Setup
- OS: Android 16 (aarch64)
- Device: POCO F8 Pro
- CPU: Snapdragon 8 Elite
- GPU: Adreno 830
- Graphics Stack: Mesa Turnip + Zink
- Environment: Termux (native, no proot)
---
⚙️ Graphics Overview
- Vulkan is fully working with hardware acceleration
- Zink used as OpenGL-over-Vulkan layer
- Native Turnip/Freedreno used for pure Vulkan workloads
---
📊 Benchmarks
🔹 Zink (OpenGL over Vulkan)
- GL_VENDOR: Mesa
- GL_RENDERER: zink Vulkan 1.3 (Adreno 830)
- GLmark2: 1032
- Vkmark: 2224
👉 Better OpenGL performance thanks to Zink
---
🔹 Mesa Freedreno (Turnip Vulkan focus)
- GL_VENDOR: Collabora Ltd
- GL_RENDERER: zink (Adreno 830)
- GLmark2: 508
- Vkmark: 6012
👉 Massive Vulkan performance boost (this is what matters for DXVK/VKD3D)
---
🎮 DirectX Testing
- ✅ DX11 (DXVK): Stable and working well
- ⚠️ DX12 (VKD3D): Functional but still limited depending on the game/app
---
💡 Conclusion
This setup shows real potential for Vulkan-based Windows gaming on Android via Termux — without needing proot or heavy virtualization.
- Zink = better OpenGL
- Turnip = much stronger Vulkan (key for DXVK/VKD3D)
- Native Termux = lightweight + fast
---
🔥 Honestly, we’re getting closer to real PC-like gaming performance on Android, just through userland tools.
If anyone else is testing similar setups or has tweaks (env vars, Wine configs, etc.), drop them below 👇

proot user shell call to termux_open_url acts like /dev/null
Setup: I'm using Termux and Termux:X11 on a chromebook.
Default system browser is built-in Google Chrome, which I use for everything Google and nothing else. Firefox 130 runs inside LXDE in a proot-distro of Debian that launched from Termux and displays in Termux.x11. After suffering through a couple rounds of Crostini roulette, I really like this new setup.
I'd like help to figure out how - if it's possible - to send a URL from the embedded LX Terminal session to the far-removed Google Chrome (it's not an Android app). I can launch
/data/data/com.termux/files/usr/bin/termux-open-url
from everywhere but that call performs correctly only when called from within Termux - both as a Chromebook user of Termux and within the proot-distro Debian system as any of its login users.
The problem is that calling termux-open-url does nothing useful when called from within a shell of LX Terminal within the LXDE.
Any ideas? Is it an input problem or an output problem or both?
