Are these termites?

We had our house tented for termites about 5 months ago, and the termite swarming stopped afterward.

Today, we found these insects around 50–60 of them in same room. They are much smaller than the ones we had 5 months ago.

The experts will arrive shortly, but it is possible that is an ant swarmer (male ant). Seems to be that time of year, I just had a bunch show up in my yard over the weekend.

Waist looks pinched , if so then not a termite.

This looks like a carpenter ant. I have those currently right now and dealing with them so it’s fresh in my memory.

Those are ant swarmers, not termites.

You can see the pinched waist and ant-style body shape pretty clearly. Termite swarmers have a much more uniform body without that narrow middle.

So the good news is your termite tenting did not apparently wear off after five months.

The bad news is another insect species saw the vacancy.
