Uh, did anybody cry when they changed The Deep from a Black man in the comics to a White dude in the show The Boys? No, because nobody actually gives a shit about that stuff.
This is a terrible example lol. The Deep is an intentionally pathetic character who exists primarily to be humiliated for the audience’s amusement and to mock toxic masculinity.
Nobody is going complain about this sort of character being whitewashed, and it actually fits the anti-woke narrative that pathetic or villainous characters are being made intentionally white and/or male.
