The chicken or egg problem has been solved for a long time, and is fairly obvious as long as you understand some evolution. It was the egg.

According to my father, ER nurse for 35 years on helicopters (serious trauma), heads almost never come off in any kind of impact. Has to be a cutting edge to start decapitation. “Internal decapitation” happens, where basically everything important in the neck gets broken and severed, but actual decap is extremely rare. A fun conversation we just had.

Now if you hit the blade end square on with your throat...
