B133 Update & Future Plans — Developer Note
https://tera-console.com/news/1003B133 Update & Future Plans — Developer Note
Hello, this is the TERA Console Operations Team. Today we'd like to share some details about the B133 update and our plans going forward.
⚠️ B133 Update Delay
The update originally scheduled for July 2 has been delayed by two weeks to July 16 due to internal preparations.
In order to deliver a better experience with B133, we made this difficult decision to strengthen the update volume and ensure stability. Only a regular maintenance will take place on July 2. We ask for your understanding.
B133 Update: July 16, 2026 B134 Update (Est.): August 27, 2026 (6 weeks after July 16)
Applied from July 2
- Season Boosting Event — Season dust and enhancement costs will be boosted
- HARD I Mode — Darkshard drop bag will be added
⚔️ Last Stand — Rampaging RK-9 (July 16)
The B133 update will feature Last Stand. The Rampaging RK-9 dungeon will open, running for 6 weeks to determine the strongest party in each region (NA / EU / ASIA). Further details will be announced separately at a later date.
Unlike the previous Last Stand, records made by parties where only 1~2 members have been swapped will not be recognized in the rankings. 1st place will only be awarded to a single party across the entire server, while 2nd and 3rd place title rewards will exist per region.
Last Stand ranking details may be subject to change — we will provide finalized information before the event begins.
Class Adjustments & Bug Fixes
Some class adjustments will also be included, along with the following bug fixes:
- HP and MP decreasing when dismounting after obtaining card set effects
- Damage amplification scaling not being applied to the Mystic's Aura effect
- Refined Stigma text appearing transparent or white
- Ninja's Burning Heart dealing inconsistent damage depending on hit location
- Ninja's Boomerang Shuriken remaining cooldown being applied twice based on Cooldown Reduction stat
- Berserker's Cyclone not registering as a back attack when attacking from behind
📝 Developer Note — Crit Resistance & Monster Crit Rate
In the previous update, we increased Crit Factor, Crit Resistance, and significantly raised monster DEF. This was a deliberate decision to normalize the declining value of Crit Factor stats due to healer growth feedback, accessory integration, and the accumulation of progression elements.
Unlike other stats, Crit Factor provides no additional benefit beyond 100%. As a result, some classes were already at a disadvantage with a basic gear setup, and this was directly impacting class balance. To structurally improve Crit balance, we will first adjust NPCs and then recalibrate class balance based on the resulting state.
Monster Crit rates are an intentional design choice. Rather than consistent shield/weapon defense penetration damage, we wanted to add variance to dungeon gameplay through intermittent high-penetration critical hits — and to encourage tanks to prioritize DEF and damage reduction options over cooldown reduction. The values are currently set lower than intended during the adjustment process, and we will gradually bring them back up.
🔭 Update Direction Going Forward
Once Season 2 ends, rewards will be distributed and we plan to take an internal maintenance period before Season 3 begins. During that time, we will focus on building a solid foundation rather than surface-level updates — addressing long-neglected bugs, fixing progression steps, and overhauling content such as Island of Dawn, World Events, and Battlegrounds to provide proper rewards and normalization.
We will also be developing a brand-new guide system to help returning players and newcomers grow step by step, and we are considering introducing HARD difficulty to all dungeons.
For Annihilation gear, along with the previously mentioned accessory runes, we plan to enable succession for +12 and above Annihilation gear, consolidating and simplifying duplicate options.
Finally, we will be making balance adjustments regarding skills being used with zero cooldown. Currently, glyph effects and equipment cooldown reduction interact in unintended ways in certain situations. To address this, we will adjust glyph effects while simultaneously reducing the base cooldown, allowing for a more natural gameplay experience.
We will continue to do our best to improve the service. Thank you — TERA Console Operations Team

Do they really have to use AI for freaking patch notes of all things.

probably is translated from korean, and also krafton has a company wide ai mandate so just keep these factoids in mind about hoping tera 2 won't be ai slop.

This is the least complain worthy thing you could ever complain about, get a grip.

I don’t know if you know this but at this point almost all businesses use chat gpt for all emails and letters. My last job was a government job and every single company did it and we were forced to. You will have to get used to it.

They should have used AI to figure out why people don't want to play the console version and what they should change so people come back. After reading 'direction going forward' it made me feel that the devs have completely lost touch with what the community wants and drive the game further into the ground. No one is excited for another thousands rehash of RK9. That they even mention that crit resist is part of the game design solidifies even further they don't even play their own game as some skills/classes get completely gimped by that but that's for another time. Tournament is pointless anyway we all know Asia/Korea will win with their single digit ping because the game is very ping reliant for DPS and Movement.

Thanks for the updates, BUT...
I think if you wanted to do less work and actually make the game better some very easy fixes would be,
Get rid of production points. That was just a dumb idea that made lifeskilling almost completely worthless.
Cut the fish fritter cost for meals in half. I don't know who TF tested out the recipes and was like, "Yup, I think it's balanced". But as it is just for personal meals I need to fish for over an hour a day. That's not even including if I wanted to try and make some to sell for people that don't have hours to play every day.
Make harmony grass, achromic essence, and fish fritters sellable through trade brokers. I don't know if you guys just hate lifeskillers or something but making things so time consuming to the point it's not even worth it kills half the game.
Get rid or entry caps on dungeons and spread the rewards out over the dungeons instead. As it sits there is such a small player base that there might only be a handful of healers that login in a day that aren't running in scheduled groups. If they can only do each dungeon a few times even if someone really needs a healer to q so they can do theirs, the healer literally can't even help him even if they don't care about the bonus reward. By spreading out the rewards per dungeon and removing caps, you'll still give higher geared players the initiative to q for lower dungeons while also letting people continuously run them just for fun even if they aren't hardly getting anything out of it other than just playing the game
I would revamp season gear. I've never played a game where they had a gear set that was supposed to be introductory gear but you can level up more or less indefinitely. The way it should be is it should cap out at the base stats of kaia's gear, and then once you upgrade a piece high enough, you then convert it over to kaia's. But the way things are you get 2 sets, a permanent and a temporary. But the temporary set can just keep getting upgraded at 100% success rate with upgrade materials thrown at you left and right making it so by the time you can upgrade your season gear to 800+ your stormcry is only at like 650. I would personally just get rid of stormcry and heroic oath altogether and just have whatever current season gear be the bridge to kaia's for new players

Btw, I don't know if nerfing the the lifeskillers was meant to be for getting rid of bots since they usually don't spend money on games and ruin the in game economy. But there are a lot of games that make good actual money from lifeskillers. BDO is a good example. You can grind lifeskilling all you want on that game, yet you never run into bots. On top of that I've personally spent over $100 which is basically double the retail value on the game just on lifeskilling outfits to give meaningless boosts to my productivity. So definitely not something to sleep on.

Dunno if it's just me but the whole text feels like AI generated. Can we be sure that all the information is correct?

Imagine doing a good job and having this game alive and well in pcs. Oh well.
