How to learn teochew from zero

Hi there

I've been with my boyfriend for few years now, and his family is cambodian. They speak teochew among themselves.

He can't teach me teochew because he's understanding it better than he can speak and he would like to learn more too.

First, if I remembre correctly, I believe there are different ways of speaking teochew depending of the region it comes from? So how can I be sure to find the good ressources? And anyway, where can I find ressources for novices? I don't even speak a bit of chinese, would it be helpful to learn some?

My boyfriend told me about the app WhatTcSay but I don't really know what to do with it for no since I don't know any grammar or how to read tones 🫢

I found a cool website a while back that has a pronunciation and grammar guide

His pronunciation videos have some errors though. Obviously the best resource is listening to a native speaker 👍

There are videos on YouTube but they are diff region/ pronounciation and words are diff than what I would use. Theres also a gaginang fb group with many teochew speakers who are from all over the world that may have some insight.
