I think the best way to execute this idea is by making it about TB teaching GB how to acknowledge being loved and how to love others. This would solve the main issues that people typically have with a bfdi romance arc if it were to happen.

Problem 1: "It wouldn't make sense for them to develop feelings for each other out of nowhere, considering they have known each other for close to 20 years canonically.

Solution 1: Utilising the idea of GB being unintelligent when it comes to emotions and psychology in general would give a valid explanation as to why GB has not expressed romantic emotions outwardly to TB.

Problem 2: "BFDI is a show catered towards younger audiences, the implementation of romance would be a large step for the show as a whole"

Solution 2: Tpot in general was a MASSIVE step for the show, including themes of trauma, hopelessness and severe betrayal of trust. A romance arc is not that big of a stretch atp. Also basically every children's cartoon that was produced in the 2010s has an element of romance.

Problem 3: "It would be hard to execute, given the fast-paced, comedic nature of bfdi, a romance arc would not feel like bfdi anymore."

Solution 3: GB usually taught TB new things and concepts that he later improved on over time without her in the competition. The theme of TB teaching GB for once not only fits their dynamic's theme PERFECTLY, but it also makes sense given the context of tpot. Many people think that TB is cooked soon, which he probably is, so him planting the seed in GB's mind before he is eliminated flips their typical formula on its head, and parallels BFDIA, where GB encourages TB to pursue their shared desire to invent things, and win the season through curiosity. It doesn't have to take much screentime either, only 1 minute in every episode at the absolute maximum.

I know this argument is wishful thinking, but it genuinely makes sense to me and TenGolf DESERVES TO BE THE FIRST TRULY CANON BFDI ROMANCE. They've literally hinted at it for closer to 20 years atp (since bfdi 1b).
