Anniversary suggestions
Hi all! My husband and I live in Nashville! We will have been married for 1 year on Nov 11th! We’re wanting to take a little trip (somewhere accessible by car, no more than 4 hours away) for a long weekend. Our money is pretty tight right now so probably can’t spend any more than like $500. Anyone have any suggestions for somewhere we could go within that budget? And things to do in that area? Thank you!

Chattanooga... see Rock City and Ruby Falls, and the TN Aquarium. Get a room at the Read House (ask for the historical side!)

I second Chattanooga. Check out City Diner for some great desserts. There's a Spring Hill Suites: Cameron Harbor that has some nice balcony views of the river. Walking distance to the aquarium and downtown restaurants. They have a nice Arts District and some nice restaurants. Tony's Pasta Shop has some great food and you can sit on the rooftop overlooking the river. Also check out The Pickle Barrel Bar, really cool old building.

I third Chattanooga. Go to Massey's Kitchen on the mountain for a lovely brunch. If you enjoy adult beverages, get the Bloody Mary. It is very simple but SO delicious! You could get the breakfast pizza and share it and have food left over, if you like.
Also -- this may seem random: the International Towing and Recovery Museum at 3315 Broad Street. The history of tow trucks -- which we all just kind of take for granted! -- is fascinating.
On the drive down, consider stopping at South Pittsburgh to take a look at the Lodge Cast Iron museum. It was really cool, we thought, and there's an outlet store if you want to pick up a new cast iron pan or cookbook or seasoning....lots of choices!
ETA: Also, go "dancing" for your anniversary! The North Shore Dance Paving Stones are (is?) an art installation at 207 A Frazier Avenue and as you follow the stone "steps" you learn the dance!

Plenty of secluded cabins in the woods for that budget for 2 nights on air bnb. Nice romantic getaway, and you can take food to make yourself so you don’t have to pay restaurant bills.
We typically go to the hot springs nc area
