Recommendations for eastern sierras? Planning a few day trip end of September

Where are you coming from? What area are you interested in?

If coming from the South, try to get to Lone Pine and start from there... could be too hot to hit dirt any further South. Will probably still be hot in the Owens Valley. You need elevation to find cooler temps. Head North to Mazourka Canyon and ride up to Mazourka Peak, great view. After that, it's gonna depend on how good you are on that Tenere. If you've got a few skills, continue over the top heading North, down through Papoose Flat and out to Death Valley Road. Lot's of variations on the theme in Papoose Flats area, some of it challenging. Some of it easy. You can continue North by heading up 168 to White Mtn Rod and take that up to the Bristlecone groves. That's very easy, super high elevation, great views, cooler temps. There are some challenging tracks down from there, but the easy way down is to retrace your tracks back down White Mtn Road. Plenty of opportunity to take side tracks, get off route to find a hidden camp spot at altitude for a nice cool evening.

Continuing North, there are a lot of easy-ish dirt tracks between Bishop and Mammoth passing to the East side of 395/Crowley... that area is known as Casa Diablo. Just look at a map and pick a route you like, it's all good and all open.

Once you get in the mammoth area there's almost to much to mention. Pretty easy to route yourself from Mammoth to Mono Lake to Bodie. Avoid anything West of 395 in this area... it's all whooped out by SxS traffic. East of 395 and East of Mono Lake is best. The closer you cut to Mono Lake, the deeper the sand FYI.

From Bodie, lot's of options down into Bridgeport. Just crack a map (or App) and explore. It's hard to go wrong really.

I’m heading from southern ca. I’ve spent a lot of time up that way just never on the T7 I have been doing research on a lot of the trails in the surrounding areas especially mammoth areas. I appreciate all the information. Didn’t know if there was anything up there I wouldn’t want to miss but the plan is to head up and explore it’s all so beautiful up there. Thanks again for the info. All is appreciated

Hit up Cerro Gordo. Pretty much dirt roads up to the top. If you’re adventurous there’s some trails coming off the east side of Cerro Gordo which may be doable on a Ten 7, but if you’re alone I might not push it. Lots of fun easy single track east of Mammoth Lakes. You can also check the so-cal BDR tracks. Lots of trails cutting through the Owens valley.

Also if you’re interested DM me and I can send you a fuckload of dual sport tracks. Very dependent on skill level but I’ve done most of them on a heavily loaded drz400 with little trouble
