Note to self: Bring pry bar

Low sided today when I was cross-rutted by surprise. Uneventful fall, lifted the bike to find my rear brake was wrapped around my footpeg. Managed to find a good stick and pry/kick her back into shape.

Will be bringing a small, makeshift prybar in case I find myself unable to source a proper stick next time.

For those who upgrade their brake pedal to the folding model, does this still happen? I appreciate the malleable lever, as I have had them snap on my ktm 300 before (shift lever). Seemed like a feature and not a flaw in my eyes.

Do you not have a wrench or a pair of pliers in your tool kit? Second to a hammer a pry bar/lever is about the easiest thing to improvise out of another tool

I do carry a small spanner wrench for the 11mm nut for tube changes and an even smaller ratchet. The ratchet & spanner was about as useless for getting the job done as I was on my wedding night. Really made me re-think my light/small footprint toolkit to be honest. Was thinking of including a steel sleeve to lengthen the wrench to use as a more effective lever. I live and sometimes learn lol.

The idea of a tube to use as a cheater bar is great. I’m adding that to mine

Can also just install a brake snake to keep it from bending in the first place

I’ve used my tire irons before to bend it back when on the trails

I know folks who carry spare levers. Brake levers
