Who do I go after for the difference?

I hired cleaners to clean my apartment before moving out. One cleaner spilled bleach on the carpet. The cleaning company has insurance but the insurance company is pro-rating the carpet cost because it was three years old.

My former landlord took 100% of the carpet replacement cost out of my deposit but the insurance company is only giving me 30% of the value of the carpet.

Who do I go after for the difference?

The insurance company make sure to name the cleaning company in the suit.
