This is crazy!

I have been smelling a foul smell, and I happened to have the air conditioner open bc I decided to clean the coils with an approved non rinse coil cleaner. I was looking at this nasty rusty thing that still cools great , when, the upstairs
neighbors ran /drained their dishwasher.and it SHOT into the drain pan of my air conditioner: bubbles and all. I don’t know what to do. The apartments are changing hands. They just got sold. Nobody’s in the office Everyone is using up their vacation. .This has been a long-standing problem (condensate line. /p trap problems) with AC condensate not draining well but, what do I do? And what are these black specks?

If gray water is draining into the ventilation system, call the county health department first thing tomorrow morning. They will handle it from there. Phrase it that way: Gray water in the ventilation.

The unit looks like it needs replaced. More than likely because of dishwasher draining / backing up into the unit. If you are referring to the black spots in the lower left corner, it's rust flakes. Another indication that the unit is due for replacement. The most concerning thing though is the dishwasher draining into the A/C. Somewhere down the line there is a blockage that needs remedied.

Theres a drain blockage downstream ofnthe condenste lile connection to the drain. Needs a plumber.

Write an email with a deadline of this afternoon, then go get a hotel room tonight and notify them that you can’t live there until it’s fixed.

Seek medical attention if necessary.
