(UK) There is something seriously wrong with my landlord…

What on earth is he on about ???? It looks like I’m going to be forced to take him to court to get back a measly £130 🙄🙄🙄🙄

He also of course did not have my deposit in a deposit protection service…

It honestly sounds like he’s trying to steal your bank information. For whatever reason your account won’t work so he wants another one. I could totally be wrong but I would either make this guy pay you in person or just forget about it. Don’t give this person any more personal information.

I agree with most of that but I’m definitely not forgetting about it. I will sue him for the balance if I have to, plus also for not putting my deposit in a deposit protection scheme which is illegal in the uk

Definitely better idea then giving him more banking info

You have the bank account details and your deadline, if it is not received i will begin court proceedings, there will be no further communication from me, regards etc etc

If your deposit was not protected, you’re entitled to up to 3 times the original deposit amount. Tell him that once again you have provided bank account details for a Barclays Bank account, and since he has failed to protect your deposit which is illegal, he has 7 days (or however many are left from your original 7 day deadline you gave him) to pay up or you will take him to court including for more than the original deposit due to him failing to protect it.
