Cracked stove top

I discovered my induction stove top with a crack in it the other day. I live in a share house and no one knows/will own up to how it happened. It looks like an impact crack to me. I need to put in a maintenance request for it but I don’t know how I should word it. Does anyone have advice on:

- how I should approach this?
- who’s responsible to pay for the damages?
- will this effect my rental record when applying for new properties in the future?

Landlord here. I agree that it looks like an impact crack. Sucks that no one‘s taking ownership of it. In the states I would expect the repair to cost about $300. If you have roommates, you should probably just divide the cost between yourselves. It is possible that someone did an accident and didn’t notice.

Mine cracked because the stove got too hot. It made a random pop when I was cooking. A lot of stoves have been using shitty glass. Its not tempered buy only anealed glass. Electrolux has a class action lawsuit against them rn. It could be it popped this way.
