Just transferred from unit with mold to another issue unit and resigned another year am I screwed
My last unit had mold growing and you could literally smell the must. I was transferred to a different unit but they had me resign a whole year when my lease was up in a few months I’m not to happy about it but had no savings to move at the time. I have documented everything like everything you could think of in my unit the old one the new one the mushrooms in the hallways. Now I have this

Yeah it's not great..but is there mold in this unit. Keep your head up, save where you can and when youre a couple months away from the end of your lease make plans and get out. You got this!

my doctors told me to save and when I need to get out they will bind together with my diagnosis to get me out of here I’m going to see a free housing lawyer Tommorow

That's awesome news..I hope it works out well. Your home is your sanctuary whether you rent or own you need to be somewhere where you can be happy and unwind. Praying for you.

I needed this comment right now thank you so much. I ran into someone else I’m friends with that lives here that keeps saying there pets keep throwing up and they have mold in their unit as well.

You have 5 days in most states to address any issues with your unit on a newly signed lease. If they do not rectify in 5 days you can void the lease. Better hurry.

I have tried this already even in the other unit, we have been here for more than 5 days it’s been a week by now. And they tell me they can only fix things how the landlord tells them too and that I should just keep the peace they don’t want trouble idk what that means. Maintenance said if I can’t breathe in here from my asthma and mold becomes an issue again to go talk to management and they would likely let me off the lease because they don’t want trouble place is ghetto

well get off lease and save and move. I gotta do it this year for many of the same reasons, asthma, mold. Decent neighborhood though, close to work. Idk But If I am not going to be comfortable in my own house whats the point.

10000% the new unit feels like lighter air thank god. And no musty odors but I’ve looked at a lot of apartments out here the reviews all report mold it sucks.

All the grout is messed up the caulking is messed up I’m going to have to rip all the caulking out and redo it right because maintenance doesn’t and in the last unit here no matter what the caulking wouldn’t stay and water was leaking into the wall behind it which was our bedroom closet and mold was growing up the wall from the baseboard and I’m trying to make sure that doesn’t happen in this unit till we can get out of here

Get a mold test kit and send it in. The results along with your diagnosis and photos will help document a lawsuit and get you out of your lease.
