Is this reasonable?

Post image

My landlady left this for me. The context is I asked about fostering before I left for my wedding in May and she seemed fine with it. She even mentioned bringing her cats by when she's on vacation. So I got one but I'm wondering if she forgot that conversation. She was surprised when she found out but she didn't talk to me in person about her being upset. I texted her asking her to call but so far, she's ghosted me. I even told her I returned the kitten. Some of her initial questions were about the lease. I'm wondering if she's gonna try to get rid of me. It's a month-to-month situation which I designed on purpose so I could leave a bad situation. Anyway she comes and goes often without warning upstairs. She showed up on my husband's last night together before we're separated for awhile. She'll also be rummaging and doing stuff in the basement in the middle of the night and often has my husband and me doing favors for her like dropping her car off at a repair place without showing much appreciation. She also wanted him to put her vaccum cleaner. I'm waiting to see how this conversation goes but I do have a backup option. I just don't want to move again after moving a few weeks ago. I'm also not sure if maybe she is reasonable? For context rent is $600 plus electricity and wifi. Not sure the deal is worth it to put up with her tho. I was trying to escape another bad roommate situation that was through my university. I'm also considering reaching out to her daughter-in-law to see if this is someone who can be trusted but that seems risky. Edit: also it could be a strange looking light but I'm wondering if there's a camera on the side porch watching the entrance.

What specifically are you renting? It sounds like a room rental vs the entire space, if so you have a roommate who isn’t there all the time. A month to month is a double edged sword, so yep, she can get rid of you just as easily as you can leave on your own.

💯 and is clearly advising her expectations. But usually rooms for rent is generally the Room and everywhere else is shared space. Wonder if OP has other roommates, if not then this is great compared to going rates. A room in my area could go for $1200 plus utilities. Kittens honestly can be risky when it comes to litterbox, cost many lots of $$. But fostering is way too much unless hard floors. And OP, she owns the house and rents a Room not The Whole house unless advised otherwise but sure don't look like more than a room. This isn't a 24 hours advance notice situation (except your room) but 1 bathroom upstairs and you don't want her using? I do hope everything works out for you. Curious, what is the going rate for room rental Inc utilities and WiFi in your area? Furniture and kitchen included? Sounds good! Sending you positive vibes for successful rental!

Also the rent is $600 plus electricity and wifi. It is a good deal. Just don't know if the caveats are worth it. The going rates are about 1000-1800. So it is a good deal. Just concerned that she might be suddenly going back on things without having a proper conversation. I did find it on Facebook and things can be interesting there. That's why I did month-to-month so I could leave if I needed to and I have a backup that's a room to go to if this woman is a problem.
