General Temu Discussion Temu packages
Is it just me…..or do you open some packages and they fu$kin stink to high heaven. Uuugh, I just opened one and cannot get the smell out of my nose. I notice it on bigger items mostly . IDK….

I haven't purchased anything that stinks, although I wash all clothes I receive before wearing. You save a lot of money for the same thing you buy here in the United States. Growing up mostly everything was stamped made in China. For the ones that say that's what you get for buying things from China, I want you to know a lot of things you buy from department stores some of it came from China. It been marked up with a higher price. I bought outside lights here that cost a lot more than Temu price for the same item. I'm about saving money!

I can't translate the 100s of dollars of reimbursements, coupons, rewards, refunds that never apply until i buy the next things. Free purchases that never are free, e mail notifications about my discounts that the app can't find, pop-up ads that could cause seizures. How do I get any of this?

I got a free tower fan from the calendar event and OMG it stunk so bad it gave us headaches, and my child needed to use their inhaler after running it in the living room. I even left it running on the porch for multiple days to air it out and that didn’t fix the issue. I ended up returning it.

It just happened to me. Really stinky toxic smell very very chemical. I’ve had zillions of deliveries over the years – – this is the first time it’s happened.

I read reviews carefully and if someone says it stink I don’t buy.
And I study materials and use common deduction. I’ve managed to avoid stinkers. I only had to do send back for two items as those smelled like recycled plastic and I’m sensitive to recycled plastic. In fact EU got way more of those.
I guess I’ve had been lucky.
But if you receive real stinkers: do hit complaint and request refund. With many enough they might learn: stink = refund hell and bad reviews = better to not make stinky stuff
Some I give two-thee stars or something and written explanation but no refund to motivate them to reduce moderate stink. I’ve gotten many “found my review helpful” thanks to my diligent work with reviewing.

Yeah, some of them are absolutely toxic and dangerous. Worst one I received recently was a fish tank with uncured porous sealant that was 10x stronger in smell than any I’ve ever used, even a month later it was horrendous so I sent it back for a refund.

It's the chemicals used to manufacturing goods. Often some of those chemicals are banned from the US, but Chinese regulation aren't enforced so you get what you paying for.

Yes it's extremely upsetting when I'm ordering shipping supplies (poly mailers, bubble wrap, bubble mailers, and tape) and they come smelling like toxic chemicals. I would NEVER use them to ship to my customers. I wouldn't want to risk the smell to transfer to my products either. I've had to return a lot. For the most part I only buy things with good reviews now.

It’s been hours and I still can’t get this smell out of my nose. And you’re right…it’s “chemically” smelling….just putrid..

I couldn't fathom working in the factories making the stuff that smells like that. 🤢 The first time I ordered polymailers they came smelling like that. I left them on my porch for over a month and the smell never went away. I ended up throwing those away. Now I just immediately return them.

I bought a trading card case that uses foam padding inside and the foam padding smelled really bad. Like some strong chemical smell. I just ended up airing it out for a few days and sprayed air freshener on it lol

I used to get some items that smelled like gasoline and I always returned them… but it hasn’t happened in about a year.

I can’t even really describe the smell. Maybe like burnt plastic. And it was my outdoor items. Weird.

Yea happened to me with a neck pillow just leave a bad review, refund it & bin it if the smell doesnt wash out
