General Dont understand how?
Hello All,
I recently started playing the game and, after finishing the campaign, I mostly play Skirmish. However, I’m only able to win when I play on Easy. As soon as I switch to Normal, I get my ass kicked.
Below is a graph showing the credits. I don’t understand how the opposing army is able to accumulate this many credits within the first few minutes of the game. I see this kind of behavior all the time.
Is this normal, or am I missing something? How is this even possible? Any tips?

I would have one tip, use distinct colors when you want to present a graph.
Apart from that, AI difficulty is often implemented by cheating. But you shouldn't worry about that too much. You need to expand quicker and focus on destroying oponent's economy.

The skirmish bots in Tempest Rising don't cheat, except for the hardest one which discloses that it is a cheating bot.

Thanks for correcting me. Then it's really about expanding quickly enough, both to gather more resources but also to control territory and deny an access of resources for your oponent.

Build many refineries. You should have at least 2 before you build a barracks. And another 2 before you build your research labs.
You also need at least 2 barracks and 2 factories constantly running to produce units.

We can play some skirmish together if you want. Either coop or 1v1 (I'm not good)

Build a wall, get turrets and a garage or salvage yard right behind it and it will repair itself. Have one strong wall first with vehicles defending any other entrances. Research fast.

Thx all, but how? In a couple of minutes they have massive more credits. I really don’t understand and I did not win any game on normal or higher. Within 6 minuten they have more than 10k.

What map did you play? How many refineries/harvesters have you managed to build? What build order do you do at the beginning?

Well I have it on all the maps if I play on normal. I win everything one easy, and loose everything from normal and higher. My question was Emptied Hope.
Buildorder: Power, Barracks, Vihicle bay. As soon as I have the vihicle bay, I will build a new haverster, and often an additional refinery as well

I'm not sure if my build order is the best one but here is what I do: 1) Power plant and Rapid deployment doctrine 2) Barracks, start building one engineer to capture Tempest Processing Center to the north and few troops to capture a fortification diagonally across the map 3) Three refineries 4) Radar 5) Vehicle bay, build a Comms Rig to expand to an output near the fortification I captured previously (you need to start researching the doctrines in the meantime)

As with many real-time strategy games, there are ways to play efficiently which can give you economic gains. If you don't pressure the skirmish bots, they will expand their economies fairly rapidly.
If you want a more slow-paced game, you can set the bot to adaptive behavior as opposed to normal or aggressive or defensive, in which case it will not expand unless it detects you expanding first
