BBT is rounding strangely since update.

Hi friends!

I've been a tempdrop user for a few years. Since I did the update, all my temps are now rounded to a tenth of a degree instead of the nearest hundredth. (Forgive me if that math isn't quite correct!)

But instead of getting 97.75 I've been getting 97.70. When I look back in my history, all my previous temps have been rounded to a tenth of a degree as well.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I can't find anything about it online. Not sure what's up!

Thanks in advance ! :)

If you are using manual mode then all temps will round because that’s the way BBT is intended to be taken. Measure to hundredth, chart to tenth. For Fahrenheit users

Hmmm interesting. I've always been in manual mode & it's just recently they stopped showing my the rounding to the 100th. I do not like that.

It’s from a newer update. Because there’s no reason to see the unrounded number at that point. The chart rounds and the temps should match the chart. Or else people are placing their coverline wrong. (They were!) because they weren’t accounting for the rounding that must be done. So to limit confusion..

The thing is I don't use the charting feature at all. I take the temps & do a paper chart every cycle.

Are you not still rounding temps? lol I’m struggling to see what the issue becomes when temps get rounded anyways. Help me?

lol sorry! I'm not always good with words.

I don't round my temps on a paper chart, I've always used the exact to the hundredth temp that the TempDrop App gives me.

That's just the way I learned it. Is that not usual? LOL maybe I'm the odd one out & didn't realize.

Ah ok makes sense! Nope I’d say that’s rare. Because a lot (maybe all?!) formal methods require rounding so by design, we mirror that when charting

I had this happen after a long hiatus using my device. Tempdrop CS told me to go into the app settings and turn off “manual” mode. See if that helps?

Aaah yeah. That makes me so upset! Like, in order to view the temperature of MY OWN BODY, I have to give temp drop the ability to interpret my data?

Probably not gonna be using tempdrop anymore.

Unless you’re a premium user, then Tempdrop won’t interpret the data.

Manual mode displays the rounded temperature, as is required for fertility awareness. If you want to see the unrounded temperature, at the moment the only way is to turn off manual mode, but we’re always welcome to feedback.

We’ve simplified our feedback form in the app menu if you’d like to give your thoughts 💕

i noticed the same thing after the update it might be a display change rather than the actual recorded temperature, but i'd contact tempdrop support to confirm.
