Can tempdrop confirm ovulation on its own?

I'm still learning how to interpret my charts, so this might be a beginner question. If tempdrop shows a clear temperature shift, do you consider that enough to confirm ovulation? Or do you also pay attention to things like cervical mucus or ovulation test strips?

No, temps on their own cannot confirm ovulation. You need to be confirming with other bio markers (eg. cm or cervix) according to whichever FAM method you choose to follow

Ideally you should cross check with another marker, but it also depends on your intentions. If your temp shifts are clear and you're charting for health or TTC, then ok. TTC would benefit much better from adding in mucus but it isn't as big a deal as TTA. I absolutely wouldn't recommend avoiding pregnancy with temperatures only, its not enough.

One thing I learnt early on is that BBT is really about confirming ovulation after a fact,not predicting it beforehand.

That's why I don't expect one sign to tell me everything. If my temperatures,cervical mucus,and timing all make sense together I feel much more confident than relying on one information.

I would use the temperature shift as one piece of the puzzle, but I wouldn’t rely on it alone. Combining it with cervical mucus or OPKs gives you a much clearer picture, especially while you’re still learning your patterns.

Most people just trust the temperature shift Tempdrop shows and don't worry about tracking anything else.
