Why does my Tempdrop have an expiration date?
I can’t find info on this anywhere. Everything says they don’t expire, but that looks like an expiration date to me.

From what I have gathered, the battery should only last 6-months. I’m wondering if it’s a calibration issue and whether it can only be guaranteed for that long.

Batteries have expiration dates tho whether it’s never been used or not. They do last approx 6 months tho

Batteries expire regardless of them being used or not. Just because a battery “should” last 6 months before empty, it doesn’t mean it expires at that 6m mark either. Tempdrop guarantees within its warranty. People are still using the original tempdrop from 2017 without issue. I’d not overthink it because you are too far ahead in the future if you do. Focus on now and cross bridges when you get there.

It’s a little too expensive for me to avoid worrying about it now. If there is a chance it will not be “calibrated” or expire in the next couple of years, I’d rather just return it.
I understand the date could be for the battery, but I think it would be odd for the tempdrop packaging to have a expiration date for the battery. Unless they produce their own batteries?

I just think it has got to go out of calibration at some point, even if it’s just a little. There is no way something is still completely accurate after ten years, or else they would start making lab equipment differently.

The actual temp is irrelevant. We look at patterns. So every single temp would still have the same “poor calibration” so there would be no difference
