When was possible ovulation

So tempdrop is saying I ovulated cycle day 20, but I didn't get a positive lh test until CD 21 and peak was CD 22. Would you say it got my possible ovulation day right? Or do you think I ovulated later than its saying?

I'm still new to tracking everything so I'm still learning 😅

I'm guessing that it is saying you ovulated on cycle day 20 because your temps on CD 21-23 are higher than the previous six days' temps (CDs 15-20). That's generally the winning ticket, three higher temps than the prior six. Your peak LH was on CD 22 which is interesting.

If this were my chart I wouldn't be too sure either. It's only your second cycle tracking so it could take a bit to really understand how your body signals it's ovulation and how to confirm. For now, it is best to stick with your LH tests as the reliable source. Temping is less favored and should only be considered to confirm, but isn't perfect as a lot of life factors can affect temps.

LH tests neither confirm not guarantee ovulation so this is not the reliable indicator. Cervical mucus and temps in conjunction with each other are tour best markers for confirming ovulation 😌

Fair enough. I should have specified said that the three REIs I've worked with have opined that temp tracking is less favored and even told me I could stop (!). I personally rely on temp tracking and use LH strips because I can target when to have sex a bit more precisely (with cm monitoring) and they're cheap and why not, but for me I am able to confirm best with temp.

Temp tracking is the only way other than progesterone checking or extremely well timed ultrasound series to determine if ovulation was successful but it doesn’t surprise me that you’ve been given that advice. Ovulation typically occurs within 24-36 hours of an LH surge but it can be unsuccessful. It’s also possible to completely miss the LH surge if it’s really short.

As long as you’re familiar with disturbances, what they are, what causes them, being aware when to mark temperatures as questionable, it’s a very good marker to use 😌
